Welcome to Marti Lovejoys Home Page
If youve been a member of SING (an egroup for Sweet Adelines) and enjoyed it, and/or if youve used my scores web page to do research and you feel inclined to show a little appreciation, please consider doing that by making a donation through me.
My group donation (made in the name of the SING egroup) is turned over to the Foundation annually at the international convention. All members who contribute are listed in the PITCH PIPE, usually in January (unless they do n ot wish to be listed).
Send me an email, identifying your name, chorus, region and so on, for proper credit! I will send an email response letting you know when your donation arrives in my mailbox.
Send me an email for a mailing address to which you can send your donation in order to have it counted with the group. My email address is: lovejoymar@sbcglobal.net
Here's a brief history of the SING donation to YSF:
In the olden days, on the harmonet (the me ins egroup), a reporter (Steve Tremper) solicited funds to pay his expenses to convention so that he could report for the harmonet. This was in the days before webcasting. His expenses were covered for several years by grateful contributors. At some point, a Sweet Adeline stepped forth and took advantage of this funding, also. (Actually, three different Sweet Adelines did.)
When I decided to volunteer to do the reporting (or assemble a team, actually), I was not comfortable with the idea of having SING members or harmonet members pay *my* expenses (felt like too much of a commitment - what i "f I got sick?), but enough SING members still wished to show their appreciation in a financial way that I felt an outlet should be created. Hence the decision to ask for their donations to be directed to the Young Singers Foundation. The Foundation was excited about our first and subsequent contributions and certainly gives us a lot of recognition. And yes, the reporting team will be bringing you written reports and photos posted at the end of each session at international. If you'd like to see samples from prior years, they are easiest to find at my scores-and-reports-only site, where there are a lot fewer messages than on SING. You dont have to join to read this group. The link is:
